Judging Criteria for Ms. Maternity USA 2008
Will you be the lucky mommy to wear the crown and redefine motherhood?

There will be a host of amazing prizes awarded to the winner and runner-ups that are all related to having a baby.
Previous pageant experience is not required and contestants of the Ms. Maternity Pageant™ will be judged based on the following required categories:
Private Interview: 35%
- The private interview will be facilitated by a panel and each contestant will have (7) minutes.
- The interview attire options are a dress, skirted suit, or pantsuit.
- This will be a conversational question and answer style interview based on the questions submitted on application.
- Judges will be looking for intelligence, sincerity and honesty with the ability to articulate clearly and confidently. The judges will also look for poise, posture, and eye contact along with a great personality and maternity fashion sense
Personal Introduction: 20%
- The personal introduction will be done at the opening of the pageant and each contestant will have an opportunity to introduce themselves and make an impression on the judges and the audience.
- Each contestant will have up to 20 seconds for their introduction.
- Judges will be looking for articulation, poise, confidence, and creativity in your introduction.
Casual Wear: 20%
- Each contestant will model the casual wear apparel of their choice.
- The casual wear competition should reflect the trendy style of the soon to be mommy.
- Judges will be looking for a sense of fashion with each outfit, confidence, style and grace.
Evening Wear Presentation: 20%
- The evening wear attire includes a full length gown, cocktail dress, cocktail suit, formal evening suit, or an evening pants suit.
- The judges will not judge on the costs of the evening wear but how it complements your pregnant body.
- The judges will be looking for elegance in pregnancy, overall appearance, poise, commanding stage presence, and confidence.
On Stage Interview: 5% (Semi-finalists only)
- The on stage question will be asked during the evening gown presentation.
- Judges will be looking for natural feedback, the answer to the question, personality, and confidence.

Optional Competition
The Maternity Photo Competition will be judged by a different panel of judges and will have no influence on the winner of the Ms. Maternity Pageant. These contests are designed to provide another opportunity to win prizes and awards while showcasing your beauty but are not required.
Pageant participants can elect to enter this optional competition by submitting up to 3 – 8”x10” photos in color or black & white. The photo should include their full body, no head shots, and no nude photos while showcasing their beautiful bellies. There will be a $20 additional fee to enter this competition.

The focus of this pageant is to celebrate the miracle of childbirth and the beauty of all mothers.
The Ms. Maternity Pageant reserves the right to refuse entry into the Ms. Maternity Pageant to anyone for any reason. Friends and family members of the Ms. Maternity Pageant are ineligible to compete in this pageant. |
